New Years dinner!!
How-U-Doin
Hello ladies I want to share my New year dinner with you I grew up believed that you had to have Black eyes peas, collars green and chitlin on new years The peas represented coins and the greens dollars which if eaten would bring in economic prosperity for the New Year.

My mother taught us to have blackeyed peas and pigfeet. Not sure what the pigfeet represent, but I'll say that we had blackeyed peas last year and NO Prosperity. So this year I decided not to have any and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for sharing your menu. I hope you enjoyed it.
Wendy that sound good too. I ate enough for all o us.(lol)
hey, where is the gumbo?
Hey kesha U and your dad did a good job on the gumbo.I see you have a big bowl right no."HEHE"
I grew up the same way Deborah but I don't eat chitlins or black eyed peas. So, this year I threw in some barbecue ribs, potato salad, and banana puddin with my sister dinner of black eyed peas, succotash, collard greens, chitlins, fried chicken, macaroni salad.UMMMM! Kesha we had the gumbo for Christmas it was sooo delicious!
Hey LaShanda that sound sooooooo good.
